TRIP TO BIRD SANCTUARY
TRIP TO BIRD SANCTUARY
Hello, welcome back to "Dreamworks blog". This week is going to be the most exciting week ever! That is because, me and my class are going on a trip to the same place for 5 days. Sadly, we are not going to be camping there, it is going to look like we come to school, don't even enter the classroom, our teacher takes attendance, we board the bus and go to Bird sanctuary, and then come back from the bus and go home, we are going to be repeating that for the whole week.
If you do not know what a bird sanctuary is, so a sanctuary have different meanings, in this case we are talking about a sanctuary for animals, which is a facility where animals no matter size or color are welcome to live and will be protected for the rest of their lives. What makes Inglewood bird sanctuary is that it has been recorded to have 270 species of birds, 21 species of mammals and 347 species of plants!
If we were interested on going on this trip, we had to pay 25$, and surprisingly my whole class payed the money. On the first day I was hoping to see a Deer, a Horse and a Cayote, but we saw tons of Chickadees a lot of Woodpeckers and Clickers we even saw a Beaver and a Deer!
We even went on a binocular walk, where I saw many different kinds of species of birds and animals I have never heard or seen of.
There is a map in Calgary called the urban forestry map. It is a map that help us to identify what tree we are looking at in Calgary only. We had the chance to talk to the woman who runs that map. Her name was Jenna, she gave us a lesson on trees, and we had the chance to ask her any questions we had.
It was really fun to visit Inglewood Bird sanctuary, and to look at all the bids and animals and get to learn more about trees and wildlife. See you in another on of "DREAMWORKS BLOG".
